A message on the coronavirus from Showhomes

Showhomes is committed to helping you sell your properties — to getting you higher offers and a faster sale; to putting our clients first and ensuring the well-being of our team members and communities that we serve from coast to coast. With that as our guide, and in response to COVID-19, or coronavirus, we wanted to give you an update on how we’re staying on top of it as we enter your listings.

Throughout the past 34 years, you’ve trusted us with your properties. While staging activities allow us to maintain social distancing, we’ve been working on additional procedures to further strengthen our safety standards.

In addition to our usual routines, here are some of the extra measures we’ve introduced to promote health and safety:

  • We’ve added extra requirements and increased frequency for disinfecting surfaces and deep cleaning throughout the day for all stages and de-stages. We will wipe down with disinfectant: any doorknobs, light switches and surfaces we touch in the homes we are working in. We will provide soap and paper towels for all staged homes.

  • We will be restricting in-home consultations for occupied properties and we will be doing these remotely via video or images sent by email. We’d also be pleased to FaceTime or Video Conferencing at your convenience so you can take us on a virtual walk through of your listing.

  • For those that would like to book an occupied or semi-occupied home staging services we will ask your clients to you confirm some health and safety questions prior to staging day:

    1. Do you have the following: fever, and/or new onset of cough or difficulty breathing?

    2. Have you travelled to any impacted areas in the 14 days before the onset of illness?

    3. Have you come in close contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19?

    4. Have you had close contact with a person with acute respiratory illness who has been to an impacted area (see #2) in the 14 days before their symptom onset?

  • We are asking the same questions of all on our team and do not use anyone who currently has a risk factor.

  • Once we finish installing our staging, we will wipe our furniture and décor to keep it safe and clean. After the staging furniture and decoration is returned to our warehouse it will be cleaned to avoid bringing contaminated items to a next service.

  • We’re consistently emphasizing the importance of the health and well-being of our team members. We are making sure anyone feeling sick knows to stay home. Rest assured, we’ll be doing our best to take care of our team during this time, both emotionally and financially.

  • We will continue to follow updates and protocols recommended by the CDC, local Departments of Public Health, and World Health Organization to best ensure the safety of our guests and team members. As always, we’re grateful for the privilege of doing business with you.
